APPLICATIONS FOR DISTRICT QUOTA

• Divinity (CRE), Geography, Clothing and Textiles (DGCT).programs for District Quota and Special Schemes (Disabilities and Sports) only on Government Sponsorship for 2018/2019

Applications are invited for Degree Programs to be offered for the Academic year 2018/2019 in all Public Universities on Government Sponsorship through National Merit Admission. The Programs below are suitable for candidates who have been taking a subject combination of Divinity (CRE), Geography, Clothing and Textiles (DGCT).

Cut off weight

Cut off means the lowest entry weight for each program as used for the 2017/2018 applicants. It is calculated by adding the weight of O’ Level results obtained in the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and the weight obtained in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE). 

UCE is graded as follows: 

The weight of UCE is obtained by multiplying every Distinction (D1-D2) by 0.3, every Credit(C3-C6) by 0.2 and every Pass (P7-P8) by 0.1.

UACE is graded as follows:

A (Excellent) 6 points,  Grade B (Very Good) 5 points, Grade C (Good) 4 points, Grade D(Average) 3 points, Grade E(weak) 2 points, Grade O(Exceptionally weak) 1 point and Grade F (Failure) 0.   

The weight of UACE is obtained by multiplying the Essential subject(s) by 3, the Relevant(s) subject by 2 and the Other subject(s) by 1 as seen in the table below:

Please note: The cut off reflected below was used in the 2017/2018 admissions and may not be used for the 2018/2019 admissions as it depends on the general performance of a particular year.
